Book cover design for Einstein’s Dream by Alan Lightman. Objective: read and re-interpret the book onto the cover.

After reading this book, time is its own entity, each world moves at a different pace. Forwards, backwards, diagonally. A world wind, if you will. As that is how I interpreted the book, it may differ in other people’s opinions. So naturally, the cover reflects how I felt, the movement of time in Einstein’s dreams.

Retro Calendars

The calendar with a throwback to the olden days of hand painted ladies. George Petty’s pin-up girls served as inspiration for this new, yet old style calendar. Each month would show off a lovely lady and of course the days in the month. Exercising the use of layout, color and re-invented imagery, this calendar is sure to turn heads.

AIGA Holiday Cards

A time of season to spread the simplicity of joy or design. These cards were designed for a fundraiser for the Harrington College of Design AIGA Student Group.

As president of that group, I thought it would be a great way to showcase some simple design skills, raise awareness of our group and raise some funds. Not only did we have over 15 participants who designed a series of cards, we also raised the funds we needed to make the national conference trip! And BONUS…we all had holiday cards, we designed, that we could share with family and friends for the holidays!

Marketing Prints

Many of these have had great events that followed. Each one, a unique event it was designed for, unfortunately it typecast me as a postcard designer…

However, I love designing for this small space. It is a challenge, the postcard usually holds more information than anyone could imagine, especially for events. Once all the information has a home and some embellishing, a new life has been breathed into that small piece of marketing material.

Book cover design for 33 Blessings from my Mother, a Spiritual Reflection. A memoir written about her mother, Tori Collins had created a beautiful written piece. As it was only in its infancy when this project started, the excerpt was filled with love and antiquity. The cover was designed to have that same feeling.

Julia & Renata Watches

We developed a logotype for an up and coming pair of fashion designers from Mexico. We were also asked to conceptualize a different way of telling time on a watch, as they wanted to come out with a line of watches that were not so traditional.

After researching watch styles, this watch concept would have a face that would rotate around the seconds, the focal point. By keeping loud colors as an accent, these watches would turn up the volume with any outfit. Thus ‘Volume’ is the name of this line.

Consumer packaging was kept simple, showing off the new line and showcasing its unique features.

Progressive Dinner

This marketing campaign was developed and used to help a non-profit organization raise funds. Stacking dishes fitted this event perfectly as the dinner progressed from level to level; each floor had a different course, also meaning there would be a lot of dishes to do at the end. The objective was to keep it light, bright and fresh.
